This article is a summary of various resources relating to the Constitution of England and Magna Carta.
The matter was first brought to my attention through an interview by Richard Vobes with William Keyte and my subsequent reading of his article. This awakened me to the implications of Magna Carta on which the Constitution of England rests. Knowledge of the implications of this understanding has been suppressed and ignored by a succession of British Governments resulting in a population largely ignorant of the constitutional underpinnings of our freedoms. A serious consequence of this is continual government over reach leading to tyranny; an outcome which Magna Carta was designed to prevent.
The listed resources give much more detail on this subject, but perhaps I can mention some of the key points:
The sovereign, King Charles, is the representative of the people and has the responsibility to maintain the integrity of the realm and to resist any proposed legislation which would threaten the freedom od the people.
Our jury trial system has the provision to overturn an unjust law when a case comes to court. In other words, a just can determine the guily or innocence of the accused under the law, but then they have to option not to covict if they believe the law itself is unjust.
As we approach the coronation it is important that citizens take steps to ensure that the sovereign carries out his constitutional duties and that these are correctly set out in the coronation oath. More details can be found in this letter.
